Your Everyday Project

I have been painting scenes from my everyday surroundings for three years now. During this time, I’ve been focused on keeping the subject intimate to me so I can share how I view my everyday environment. This was in hopes of encouraging others to begin to see their neighbourhood as something worthy of consideration. I believe that when we make the conscious decision to take in our surroundings with a positive mindset, it becomes the primary lens we see the world around us. I want to explore this movement of gratitude for our home environments further.

I’m excited to launch this ongoing side project entitled “Your Everyday Project”. This is a collaboration with you. I’m asking for contributors to share photos of their beautiful every day with me so I may paint them. Was there a morning when the sunrise stopped you in your tracks on your way to work? Were you walking the dog and the sky was so beautiful it caught your attention? These moments happen all the time and when we take the time to notice, it makes our home world a more beautiful and positive place.

By sharing your image with me, you give me permission to paint it and reproduce my work as I wish. If I select your image, I will give you credit for the reference and also send you a print of the painting when completed. Thank you for your consideration in collaborating with me on this project.

Tips for a great image submission

  • Be sure to take many photos of the scene you’re trying to capture. Play around with horizontal and vertical orientations.

  • Take as high-resolution photos as you’re able to. Most cell phones will do a great job for this project.

  • If you’re having trouble sending the images via email, you can upload the images to wetransfer and include the link to download in the body of the email. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any troubles.
